low virtual memory

Hi could anyone help with this problem overy the past 2 days I have had
several error messages come up saying that the virtual memory is low and that
it needs to be sorted I have deleted some programes that I have on CD rom but
havn't used in a while in the hope that will hope but it hasn't could you
please tell me 1st what is virtual memory and 2nd how can I sort this problem

HI thanks for your message This has been partialy useful in explaing some of
the reasons this could be happening unfortunately it dosn't actually say what
I need to do find out what reason it is and how to sort it many thanks for
your help though.
