Low sound at max volume...

David

I'm using my stereo speakers for pc speakers, and I have
everything connected right using the audio y-cable. My
problem is I have to turn my speaker volume to max and my
pc volume to max just to get a faint sound... I've messed
with volume controls and everything, but nothing seems to
fix the problem. If anyone could help it would be greatly
appreciated.

I've gone through the troubleshoot thing... none apply...
it's not that I can't hear it or stops or skips... it
just plays at a really low level when everything is at
the max volume.

David, try this, maybe a minor adjustment could solve
your problem:
Rightclick sound icon and click Adjust Audio Properties
and click the Audio tab then the Advanced button. Then
click Performance tab and set Accelerator to Full and
quality to Best. Click Apply and OK.

Mine does that too. Once in a while, I have to open up
the Control Panels and reset it all manually, push all
the vols up to the top. Why? Any way to stop this?

99% of the time after people adjust their manual settings
they click OK, and that is incorrect. You MUST
click "Apply" first then OK to set and SAVE settings.

Certain music playing programs, when you adjust the
volume in them, it actually adjusts the windows volume
levels.

Have you had the amplifier checked out? If the speakers
are from your stereo, have you connected the speakers
straight up or have you run the audio through an
amplifier first? Because the output power of a sound card
is very low and if you're running the speakers straight
off the sound card everything will sound very faint. You
need an amplifier. Speakers built for PCs have built-in
amplifiers but because you're using speakers from a
stereo they wouldn't have a built-in amplifier. Try
connecting your computer up to the stereo itself.
