low music from speaker

I swapped desktops and added my old speakers.
the speaker line has an orange colour and the pc has an orange colour
connector If I plug the line into that orange connector there is no
sound at
all. When I connect the line to the next connector which is a
different colour I get a very low sound from my speakers.
My new desktop has windows XP. When I look at the
configuration in sounds audio and devices then I click on audio then
volume the pc speaker is not highlighted. I don't think the speakers
are recognized by XP. Can anyone provide advise. Thank you

Looks like you either need to install or update your
soundcard drivers. You can get them free from the
manufacturers website.

baffled?? when brighthouse set me up for roadrunner; my daughter remembers
the speakers operating; however, now, I can't hear a thing..i've tried
adjusting the volume & get absolutely nothing, which sucks, because I can't
burn cds or watch my dvds; the videos run clear, but no sound; any
suggestions...its as if it just stopped working on the spot. thanks.

I bought powered speakers and its fine now.
