low memory dilemma

Sometimes when I shut down win xp home on my HP pavillion notebook.
the screen flashes and message says "system is low on memory, windows is
resizing the pageing file". or something close to that.

it stopped doing it after I removed roxio, but did it again one time.

I havent changed any settings for the page file.

Live Update with Symanted is a possible - some program is misbehaving
on shutdown, and a resident item is the most likely.
