lost XP disk

I am about to upgrade my computer. I intend to keep my
old hard drive and keep it as a secondary drive in my new
computer. I have been told that it is easier to do a
repair on Windows and move the operating system to the new
drive rather than re-install Windows XP home and then all
of the applications and settings. I have also been told
that I will need the Windows XP which I cannot fine (legit
disks). What can I do?

You do need the CD to perform a Repair Installation.... if you purchased a
retail boxed edition of XP, you can call MS for a replacement:

If your edition of XP came with the PC, you must call the manufacturer.
