lost windows settings

Chris

hi, thanks for your help.
i have had a time. during a recent computer adventure i
got the following messege while windows was varifying
files and folders "folder c:\Documents and Settings\Chris
is entirely unreadable." "folder entry removed." that
means to me i lost all my window settings, all the folder
settings, all the icons on my desktop, etc. that all
really doesn't matter to me cause i can get it all back
eventually (i like to tinker). the one setting i can't
find though that is driving me nuts is in windows
explorer. i used to have it set so that when i opened
windows explorer, in the "folders view pane" on the left,
it used to automatically expand "my computer" so that all
my drives were visible. now it doesn't and i can't
figure out how to get it back. any help would be
appreciated.

thanks again,
Chris
