Lost volume control

While holding the left mouse button down I must f made a
sudden movement dragging the volume control off the screen.
Using the control panel or the search process did not
locate the volume control. I did find "sndvol32.ex_" in
the backup partition I386 However I don't know how
to "extract" it into the active operating system.
I would appreiate explicit directions for doing this or
some other technique to reeablish my volume control.

1.Go to Start-Control Panel-Sound Speech Audio Devices-Sound And Audio
Devices
2. put a check in the check box ,Place volume icon in the task bar
