'lost' scan/image application

My Dell 4300 came loaded with XP home and Works Suite 2001. I managed to
delete a Microsoft scanning and imaging program that I needed. I downloaded
Irfan, but don't like it. (I need it to scan/view medical records and
reproducable forms).
I tried search/run, detect repair, couldn't locate it on the support disks,
Dell customer service was very nice but couldn't answer my question and the
XP General Discussion group went as far as recommending Irfan.

How do I figure out-
- Which Microsoft document scanning/imaging program was loaded on my computer?
-Is it possible to recover it from the resource disk or can I download it?
-Is there a comparable program?
-I have another Dell loaded with Works Suite 2004. Would I be better off
using that instead?

Find the original CDs that came with your Dell... amongst them there should
be a Works 2001 CD... try reinstalling it.
