Lost my personal macros folder

Hello group,

Somehow I've lost my personal macros folder. By what I've read it is
supposed to be in my startup folder, which is My Documents. I can't find
any mention of what the name should be so I can recreate it. Of course, I
would rather recover my original, but I can't search for it because I don't
know what the name was. Does anyone have any information on this? I
couldn't find anything either in Help or online about it.

Search for Personal.xl*
Look in hidden folders and for hidden files (just in case)

If you can't find it that way, look for XLStart. That's where the file should
be. (but XLStart is buried deeper in the path.)

Thanks. I thought by "startup folder" they were talking about my default
directory.

Your default directory is where you open/save most(?) files from/to.

Your Startup directory contains files (like personal.xl*) that will open
whenever you start excel.

Usually, you'll have your personal.xl* file, (maybe some other useful addins)
and a couple of template files Book.xlt and sheet.xlt.

Both of the template files will be used as a basis for new workbooks (book.xlt)
or new worksheets into existing workbooks (sheet.xlt).
