lost mouse function :(

I installed this update from microsoft, I have no idea what it does except
looses my mouse function. I have plugged in an optical-Does Microsoft or the
IdeaCom Technology Inc. have a fix as an update?

It has been posted not to install the "driver" from the Windows
Update. If you do not have this device, do not install it.
