lost modem

I had a motherboard based (SoftV90 Dat Fax Modem) modem
before installing SP2, but after, only bluetooth modems
exist for my connections. If i restore befor SP2 the
modem is available to use ok, on SP2 i cant add the modem
as it doesnt recognise any hardware changes. What should
i do please? The driver CD only has drivers and nothing
else.
