I have lost my dsl connection ever since I received a
message "your computer has lost the lease to its IP
address 192.168.1.2 on the Network Card with the network
address 00E018B950A4". I can still connect with the dsl
when I connect it to my laptop from work.

Go to the properties of the NIC.
Open Internet Protocol properties.
Make sure that this is set to Obtain an IP address automatically.
Ok the windows.
Then try to reconnect.

Already tried. My ISP provider spent an hour trying to
help me before he said it wasn't his problem. I've
verified the ethernet card is working and the cable is
bring in a live connection but when I ping, no luck.

At that point, I would just uninstall the NIC. Delete the connection to the
DSL ISP. Reinstall the NIC (mainly so that the TCP/IP protocol on the NIC is
rebuilt), then recreate the connection to the ISP. (when you reboot the
computer with the NIC still in, XP will reinstall it)
Now, the IP address 192.168.1.2 is a private in-house network IP number.
That would not be the IP address that your ISP is issuing to you. At least I
wouldn't think that the case. They usually have a block of public IP
addresses to issue on a temporary basis. Did the ISP tech give you a static
IP address to try and establish a connection? Also, ask him if the IP
addresses their DHCP issues are public IP's or private to the ISP's network.
