lost HTML icon

hi guys

all my htm or html files now have the windows "default" (unknown) icon
associated with them. Seems that no matter what browser I try to associate
with the files (thru the shell context menu "open with > always open with"),
there is no change to the icon.

thanks for any help.

This may have been caused by installing / choosing as default an internet
browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer at some time...

Re-installing IE should fix the problem.

Select witch version of Internet Explorer you have (or would like) and
click on the link to download the setup program for it :

Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1

Internet Explorer 7 (for XP)

thanks Tim, but this seems to be a suspiciously "Microsoft-Friendly" answer
....
are there no registry tweaks or else-where twists that might fix this?

(I really don't want IE as my default browser.)
