lost cd-rom and cd-rw

hi, i just turned my dell on, and it seems that the cd-
rom drive and the cd-rw drive is "lost". i went into
device manager, and it said that it loaded the drivers
OK, but could not find the hardeware (code 14).

Could anybody help?

Miggy,

A friend of mine has a similar problem. It recognizes
that he has 2 cdrom drives but fails on the hardware
installation. They show up with yellow question marks on
the device driver window. Do yours show up the same?
