Lost Admin User Account

I tried Tweak UI and messed up my administrator's login
ability. On bootup, the welcome screen came on, but there
were no user accounts to choose - couldn't get past the
screen. Eventually got in through Safe Mode and created a
guest account. Now only the guest account shows up on the
login screen and it doesn't have permissions to do
anything. How do I reactivate the admin user? Already
tried using the Windows XP Home CD to fix software and
also the recovery process - no luck.

Not sure what state you are now in after all you mention
having done, but, at the Welcome screen before any accounts
have logged in and switched out, you should be able to use
cntrl-alt-del-del to get the old-style login prompt. This is in a
normal boot. Then log in by typing in an admin account
username and password, and then use TweakUI to change
what are shown.

I wish people would respond to these question because I'm having the same problem on one of my computers. Let me know if you find a solution.

When using TweakUi, be sure that inside the login tab to un-check
login automatically. Seems to confuse the login process. Uncheck this
and be sure your user settings are set properly.
