Need admin account

Hi,

I'm trying to fix a computer for a relative.

The Windows XP Pro he has, has 2 admin accounts (the main and a user member
of admin group) and also 1 power user. Main admin account is disabled. Only
2 users to login to at bootup.

Now to the problem. My relative opened up the properties for his account
(the user w admin rights) and went to the "Members Of" section, highlighted
"Administrators" and , pfff, removed that membership.
Rebooted and ofcourse his account does not show up anymore in the login.

-I've tried creating an admin account thru commands in DOS prompt and Comp
Management.
-Tried "Last Known Good ....".
-Tried "Recovery Console" which asks for admin pwd (no go).
-Tried a Repair with the XP CD and that didn't enable the main admin account
either.
-Tried Safe Mode with no result.

Does anyone have a solution to this or is it as I've believed all the way
that for security purposes the main admin account can't be enabled or a new
user admin account be created but with another user with admin rights?

A simple solution or any hacking method much appreciated.

Hi

When you are not able to log on to a computer with an user that
have administrator rights and the Administrator user is disabled,
the only option is to boot into safe mode (this will enable the
Administrator for that session).

If no user logon appears in Safe Mode where you can type in the
user account name "Administrator" (or click on it), press
Ctrl+Alt+Del twice.

Tack Torgeir :)

But tried and don't work. The main Admin account (SID 500), which is
disabled, will not get enabled by starting in Safe Mode. I got no idea if
that worked before and if it's something new security wise in SP2. And the
Power User won't be allowed to create any user accounts with admin rights.
Looks as if I'm screwed (or rather my uncle is screwed)

Hi

I just tested this now on a SP2 computer, and I successfully logged
in with a disabled Administrator account (SID 500)...

Sorry for taking your time Torgeir. I messed up.
I'm used to only working with english versions of MS OS and this comp I'm
trying to fix is my uncles and it's in swedish. In swedish we can call an
administrator for:
1. Administratör (Administratoer)
or
2. Administrator (just like in english but diff pronounciation)

Stupid me only been trying with "Administrator" as account name.

Worked fine with "Administratör" (Administratoer)

Thx for your help
