Lost Admin password

hope someone can help bought a second hand pc with xp pre loaded , if i try
to logon as adminastrator it asks for a password ........ i havent a clue
what the password is , is there anyway round this with out me having to
reinstall , thanks in advance for any help
 
What did the previous owner say when you asked for the password?
