lost 846 links

Hi. The other day I suddenly had pages just flying by and
within 30 seconds ended up on the winxp startpage. All
links are greyed out and do not work. I finally found a
way into search and did a *.exe and got 846 links. Not
one works. I get the windows error message that says
Windows cannot open this program unless it knows what
program created it. I run zonealarm, ad-aware pro 6,norton
anti virus.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do a Repair Install, which saves all of your programs, data files, etc.,
just repairs Windows XP.

Go to:

http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm

When the page opens, scroll down and click on: How To Run A Repair
Install. There is a step by step walk through including images. Your
software, data files, desktop, etc. are retained.

Windows XP Repair Installs have save me a few times...
