Grandchildren visiting over the holiday and using my computer (windowsxp) and
now I cannot get any sound. Connected and and not muted. Can any one advise?

1. Check if the SPEAKER works fine. Be sure sure and sure.
2. Play a music with a program that SHOWS an equalizer band. An equalizer
band moves bunch of bars when the music is played. Widows Media Player with
any visualization EXCEPT Album Art is fine.

The sound drivers probably got deleted or corrupted. Download them
again and install. Do you have a sound card or are you plugging it off
the motherboard? If it is onboard, it should be on a CD that came with
your computer which includes all the drivers for your motherboard. If
it is an sound card, I believe it came with the card when you purchased
it. If not, you can go to the manufacturer site and download the driver
from there.
