PC Sound

I use the beep and screen flash feature on the " caps Lock " button. I have a
new computer (still running XP Pro) and cannot increase the PC sound. The
slide is at the higest level and not muted in the PC sound in audio control.
I cannot get the beep tone to change by any method.

Those sounds are made through the computer's system speaker, probably a
small piezo speaker, and the volume most likely cannot be increased. If
it can, it might be possible in the BIOS settings.

you can experiment with this:
1. search for "sound recorder" on your hard drive
2. find file on which you want to change volume
3. enter file name into sound recorder and change volume
with "effects" menu
4. save changed file

note: i've used "sound recorder" for changing volume in other
files, may or may not work in your case

Not likely! If he's desperate, he could move the piezoelectric speaker
(or just get a new one) and mount it closer to an opening in the case.
