Losing History in Internet Explorer

I have my Internet Explorer currently set at Tools,
Internet Options, General - Keep History for 30 days.

At present it does not remember even the last page visited!

I have also set my Google shortcut to "Make available
Offline" but it wont respond to this either.

Any Ideas?
