1. Windows doesn't delete your favourites
That is the central point. Everything flows from that.
Therefore
1. Your favourites aren't being deleted, or
2. Something, you or a program, is deleting them.
Lets assume 1 first. We'll do 2 afterwards.
How do you know your favourites are being deleted? Obviously because you can't find them. But that does not automatically mean that they are being deleted. Log on as an admin, set your advanced search options to Search System Folders and Search Hidden Files (make sure subs are selected too as it already should be) then search for the name of the favourites (aka shortcuts - favourites are shortcuts in the favourites directory). Or search for all Internet Shortcuts (*.url in Search For Files Named).
Also type cmd in Start Run, then
dir /a /s /b c:\*.url |more
Put the first few letters in front of the * (eg if I was looking for a favourites that starts E-Bay use dir /a /s /b c:\E-B*.url |more
You need to find patterns in the events (they disapper on sundays only or only after updating my AV). Give concrete examples, if you can, of the shortcut.
