loosing group policys that are being added to local computers

Ok i dunno if this is the right site for this but i have
a w2k server with well 2 xp pro machines at work atm and
when i add a group i made on the server called
printgroups (AD is active on server) and after a reboot
the group dont show up it just shows the security key for
it and will not aknowledge it. tried grupdate and well it
wont happen. any help would be helpful im kinda stuck atm
and boss not to happy why it dont work casue it was
working fine and then it all fell trhu the floor when i
was not here....
