Logon to mapped network drives

B

Bob K.

I have 3 computers in local network. Computer A does have a password but
user logon without password is set on all 3 and they all logon
automatically. However, Computer B needs to logon to computer A (with
computer A's password)to see its shared drives. Computer C does not need to
logon to compiter A to see shared drives.

My goal is not to have to logon to shared drives, to operate like computer
C to Computer A is working now.

I believe I could "fix" this by eleiiminating Compter A's password but I
don't want to do that. Is there a way to control this?

On the WinXP PC, create local user account(s), with non-blank
password(s), that have the desired access privileges to the desired
shares. Log on to the other PCs using those account(s), and you will be
able to access the designated shares, provided your network is
configured properly. Also, make sure that WinXP's built-in firewall is
disabled on the internal LAN connection.

Usually, WinXP's Networking Wizard makes it simple and painless --
almost entirely automatic, in fact. There's a lot of useful,
easy-to-follow information in WinXP's Help & Support files, and here:
