RPC Server Unavailable - Local Logon to Domain Logon Change

At work my desktop crashed so I decided to do a full install of WinXP Pro SP2.
Went fine.

Only problem, prior to WinXP we use a domain logon.

Now when we try to establish a doamin logon via. right-click My Computer,
Properties, "Computer Name" tab, [Network ID] wizard, it reports that my
nework ID was found but when I try to use it I get the error "RPC server
(service?) unavailable."

We used the NET command to check if RPC services were started, they were.

Note that if I login (domain) from another desktop with the same
user/password it's OK.

Also, I acttually can reach the server's shared folders!

So, what is the correct way to change a local logon to a domain logon?

How do we correct the problem?
