I have two XP Home systems running side-by-side. One requires me to click on
a user to start a session the other doesn't. I want this first machine to
boot straight to the admin account rather than having to click on the
Owner's Icon. How can I do this?

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Just be aware that it is inadvisable to use the built-in administrator
account for day to day running. for lots of reasons, not the least of which
is that if the admin account goes belly up things get VERY difficult.

Best to set up an alternate Admin Account then and use it?

Yes - create a User with Admin rights so you can do all your installations,
updates etc, and leave the built0in Administrator Account for emergencies
which WILL occur!
