logon nightmare grows

my kids were taking turns on there computer, one downloading mp3 files the
other acccessing neopets, for roughly four hours, my daughter went burn a cd
of the songs she downloaded, she had to restart because of download for
highmat in cd for windows( i think) security notification no firewall now
windows stalls after user logon no restore point available cannot access
start menu after logon to run antivirus, spy sweep tried safe mode hangs up
beforeopening window have to restart--

Are you able to boot to Safe mode by hitting F8 at startup?
