When I select something with the left mouse button
(Logitech wireless) I must click it after selection or
else the selection does not take affect. Example when I
drag something I must clock the left button so it stays
where I've dragged it. There must be a way to set the
mouse action so I don't have to make this extra click,
any suggestions? Thanks.

This behavior sounds like an accessibility function. The first click "picks up" the object, and the second then drops it. I've looked in the Windows Accessibility settings and also those in MouseWare, and I couldn't find such a selection, but that is definitely what seems to be happening

Good luck

What mouse drivers are you using? Logitech or Microsofts?

If using Micosoft:

Have you tried unchecking the box for "ClickLock" in the
Buttons tab? Start/Control Panel/double click Mouse icon

For Logitech's driver properties not sure how or where to
turn it off, chances are they also call it "ClickLock"

I've found the folowing on Logitech's help menu; it
souinds like this is the way tiis designed and it sure is
annoying.

"Highlights a section of a document with the click of the
button rather than holding down a button and dragging. To
do this click the button once at the start of the section
you want to select, and then again at the end of the
section."
