Logitech Multimedia Keyboard and Safe Mode

I just bought a Logitech Access keyboard model SR 34. To get into Safe Mode
at boot, I have to make sure the F lock light is on before pressing F8. If
the light is not on, as is the default, then Windows goes into the normal
mode. Logitech support says that is the way it is supposed to happen and
there is no way to change it. I wonder if anyone knows of a work around,
perhaps as registry change, to avoid having to insure the F Lock key is
pressed and the light is on.

Oh, this happens without the iTouch software installed as well as with it
installed.

Thank you very much.

How is a registry change in Windows going to do what you propose when you
aren't even in Windows. You have a hardware issue in that you don't agree
with the way something is designed. Get a different keyboard.

Hi Jack
I had the same problem with my Logitech Elite keyboard ,except when i didn't
install the software it did work.
But i just use F5 instead of F8,in my pc it does the same thing.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Carl.

Here, F5 doesn't work. But that is OK for it is really no big deal.

Hi Jack
A little more info here , if my keyboard is conected as usb, F5 doesn't work
either, but conected as PS2 ,F5 will bring up safe mode. If i just hold down
the F5 during boot it will bring up the OS choise page , but if i tap F5
again it will bring up safe mode options. If i continue tapping F5 during
boot it will go to safe mode options.
Hope this helps

I have two of those keyboards sitting in the other room. I'll sell them
to you cheap. I replaced them with two 12 dollar, heavy duty KeyTronic
keyboards with no multimedia keys. I can change the volume and open up
programs without multimedia/program keys and that awful F key set up
Logitech has.
