F-Lock key on by default

I have a Logitech Elite keyboard. It did not come with a mouse. When I turn
on the F-Lock key and restart the computer it stays on which is exactly what
I want it to do. But when I shut down the PC completly and turn off the
surge strip then turn on the surge strip and turn the PC back on the F-Lock
key is off.

I called Logitech about this and they weren't any help at all. I want the
F-Lock key to be on by default **all the time***.

When it is on, the F keys function normally. i.e. pressing F1 in Microsoft
Word brings up the Help Icon. If the F-Lock key is off, then Microsoft Word
opens a new file as the F1 key is set to "New" under the iTouch software
settings.

Any help any one out there could give me to fix this would be most
appreciated. I've been trying to get this problem fixed for over a year.

If you installed the software that came with the keyboard you should be able
to set it in the control pan keyboard icon.

A year without using Google? I found this in about 2 seconds:

Sorry for replying under you Shaun, I don't have the original post here.
For some reason Original posts to the board from the MS site don't show
up...

My wife uses one of these and has no issues, mainly due to the fact that the
power is never removed from the system.

My best advice would be NOT to turn off the surge strip (except maybe in
case of storm or something similar,) not just for the sake of a keyboard
that works right, but the sake of the BIOS battery. If you turn off the
surge protector strip, you are removing the power that keeps your BIOS info
in-tacked, thus making the board run off the battery. This will lead to
premature depletion of the battery, and possible consequences down the road
of lost BIOS settings. This can lead to many more headaches that just a
keyboard the doesn't work the way you want it to...

Thanks. I think I'm going to try this from now on. I've been working on
trying to solve this now for going on over a year and it's very frustrating.
I'll post some more if any more probs with this particular issue.

Thanks again.
