Problems with a USB keyboard

I've got a Logitech Ultra Flat keyboard and a problem. When I'm
pressing the ALT key or the SPACE bar it often doesn't work. Yet when
connected to another PC it works perfectly. I remember having another
Logitech USB keyboard before with the same problem. Especially when
running some applications. This is a fresh XP Pro installation with
all the updates. Any ideas?

Try another USB port on the PC and see if the problem continues. Front ports
are notorious for getting messed up- it doesn't take much of a sideways push
to knock them out. Check the cable where it comes out of the KB and make
sure it hasn't been pinched or crushed. The KB isn't sitting where it might
be flexed, is it? I haven't used one of these, so I don't know how stiff or
flimsy the housing is. I had an old Compaq KB that had to have shims under
one corner to keep it typing right (not much of one, but still. . .).

The housing is pretty stiff and it's sitting on my desk so surely no
bending. It's connected to one of the back USB ports and I tried using
different ports.

That's what I thought about my Compaq keyboard, but it still seemed to flex
slightly. Assuming that's not the problem, do you have problems with other
USB devices such as a pen drive or mouse? Try updating your USB drivers from
your motherboard/PC manufacturer's site.
