login forces logoff

I've tried 2x using recovery console to copy USERINIT.EXE WSAUPDATER so that
I can login without being automatically logged off. Any user on the computer
who logs in gets logged off immediately and it returns to the user icons
window. Trying in Safe mode doesn't help. Will I have to do a repair install?
This problem happened after I uninstalled comcast security manager and
rebooted. Using windows XP media center. thanks, for any help!

Were you successful at the copy and did you place the wsaupdater.exe file in
the C:\Windows\system32 folder?

Hi,

I would be interested to know what Comcast has to say. As I am unfamiliar
with their software, I do not know what changes they may have made to the
registry.
