logical disk manager

When I try to start disk managment, I get error message unable to
connect to logical disk manager service - server exacution failed. The
logiocal disk manager service is running in task manager. I'm using
windows xp pro sp2.
Any suggestions on how to fix this I've searched everywhere and seen
several people having the same problem but no fixes for this.

I had the same problem and was finally able to track down the cause.
The file clusapi.dll was somehow deleted from the C:\windows\system32
directory. I found copies in several different locations in my various
subfolders in my Windows directory. I copied the one from
C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 into the C:\Windows\System32
directory. Problem fixed.
