Logging XP pro to WIN NT 4.0 domain

Simon

We have around 100 computers and most of them is win 98. I have a logon
script set for every user (script creates mapped drive on client computer
when it is logged to the domain). Problem is with WIN XP computers... I
cannot loggon to domain on WIN NT 4.0 main server... I can only loggon to
workgroup.

What could be wrong?

Have you added the XP machines to the domain?

Right click my computer select properties then Computer Name then Change add
the computer to the domain.

I have done that several times, but I didnt get the usual "welcome to the
domain" message, so I connected to the Workgroup.
Few weeks ago I was working on this thing again and I managed to set up my
Win Xp so that it looks like it is connectig to Domain (In section you
mentioned is written correct domain name).

Now I get this message written in SystemLog on the main server:

"The session setup from the computer SIMON failed to authenticate. The name
of the account referenced in the security database is SIMON$. The following
error occurred:
Access is denied. "

ID of the error is 5722.

So... there is a proggress, but I'm still not there. Any ideas?
