Windows NT Domain

I have just upgraded to windows xp professional, and I am trying to
configure my network logon to function the same (or similar) to my old
millennium os.

On my 98 on my network connections configuration, the "Client for Microsoft
Networks" is set as the Primary Network Logon, and is pointed via the
properties tab to "Log on to Windows NT domain" and the domain being
"Muser".
When my 98 machine powers up and the network is available the windows log on
box includes the domain.
How do I configure XP to log on to this domain, at log on time?

I have now tried that using the system in control panel / system / network
id. Which starts a wizard, which accepts my domain name user id and password
and then tells me access is denied.
My account still works with my millennium machine, so what is going wrong.

Thanks Hamish

The account you are using must be one on the Domain, and it must be
one that has been given permission to add computers to the Domain.
The Local Administrator account probably does not have this right; no
network I've ever used had this assigned to the local Admin account.

That sounds very likely, however outlook and IM use the account on the
server ok, so is it possible to log on without the local computer name being
involved.

The main problem is that I cannot log on to a remote SQL server which uses
the domain user ID and password as its credentials.
