My wifes computer and mine are connected to a router. She
runs win98..and I run winxp pro.
Because our internet account is in her name...the router
is assigning me a new addres...(no problem there)
My problem is...when I log on to windows...I am the only
account...and I am the administrator...but...under my name
is a notification that I have 30 messages. If I right
click on it...it shows her email address...but..if I go to
her email account...there are no emails there. How do I
get rid of this notification...
also.
what is ASP.NET?...It keeps coming up as a user in my user
setup program.
thanks...

Hi,

Passport:

Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2. Advanced/Manage
Passwords/Remove.

Add Control Userpasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Use TweakUI/Logon/Unread Mail and Repair/Unread Mail Count

To remove an account or to change the count manually Go to:
Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In
the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.

..Net Framework update 1.1 adds the new user called ASP.Net. You can hide it
by using TweakUI or from going here: Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT
Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList

(note there is a space between Windows and NT).

Add the username you wish to show as a DWORD value. Set the value to 0.
This will remove the user from the welcome screen. As for User Accounts,
leave it be.

If your question is in reference to not being able to auto-logon because of
it:

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, left click your user name then clear the Users Must
Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box and then click
OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Tip:

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
