I can't seem to log off uses in XP. I am only able to
switch users. Whenever I choose Log Off, it ignores the
command and just returns to the current user's desktop.
I've already tried ctrl-alt-del and used the task manager
to log off, but I want to log off through the start
menu. Any suggestions.

Hi there,

Most probably something is running behind the scene. Check
the task manager and see which process takes up the
highest CPU and Memory Usage.

If things are bad, just kill the explorer.exe process.
Then run explorer.exe again.

I think you should be able to log off.

Hope it helps.

Thank you.

What do you mean by "if things are bad"? And if I do
kill the explorer.exe process, how do I run it again, and
will it run properly? Is there anything else I can do to
regain the log off function?
