Log on screen options?

Hello,

I have a single user home computer running WinXP Pro. It was set so that
there was no logon screen during bootup. It would automatically open to my
account without my having to click on me as the user.

Then I installed Microsoft Net Framework 1.1 which forced the logon screen
and I now have to click on my name to logon.

I have three accounts showing:

Me - Administrator
ASP Net Machine - Computer Administrator
Guest - Off

Is there a way to make the bootup not require clicking on my account to
logon?

Thanks a lot,

Bob

Hello Anando,

Thank you for the information. I added the Service Pack and it worked
perfectly.

Out of curiosity, I installed Net Framework because I downloaded a Font
program that required it to run the program. I really had no idea what it
was all about. Is this a safe thing to do? Is there any downside to having
installed Net Framework? Just checking to be sure that I am OK.

Thanks Again,

Bob

I'm not Anando, but the .net framework is a runtime file needed
to run programs written with
..net. It's roughly analogous to the old vbrunXXX.dll files needed
to run programs written in Visual Basic.

There's no downside to having it installed.

Thanks Guys,

I ran Windows Update and added the security update. All seems to be working
well.

Much Appreciated,

Bob
