log on as "administrator"

I am the ONLY one ever using my computer. Why should I
be forced to log on with my name and a password???I
cannot find a help section on how to remove my name from
this log on screen, so that my computer can just be
opened without being forced to use this feature, which I
never asked for. Supposedly, I am the administrator and
cannot remove myself from my own computer. P.S.: my cats
have never learned to type, let alone use a computer.
Second question (maybe not your expertise): After I
recently upgraded from ME to XP Home I have not been able
to close the Outlook Express window (program not
responding). Am I expected to totally clear install my
ME and this XP upgrade to get this one and only non-
working window to close? Thank you for your help!

Hi Jackie,

1. 1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Tip:

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
