Log for installed programmes

While trying to submit a technical assistance form to a
software provider, using a web browser, I had a message
asking if I wanted to install and run a programme on my
computer.

I permitted the programme to be installed but I would now
like to get rid of it. Unfortunately I didn't take a note
of what it was called. Where in Windows 2000
administrative tools (or anywhere else) would I find a log
showing the history of what had been installed on the
computer, so I can identify this programme and uninstall
it?
