Windows installation at boot-up

Hello, I'm new here so please be gentle.....

I tried to install a version of Windows 2000 in a different language as
a dual boot-up. The installation failed and now I don't want to install
the second version. However, at boot up I continue to get the choice of
loading the existing Windows 2000 professional or the installation
programme which made itself the default loading and it starts in only
two seconds. It just leads every time to the point where it says the
installation failed. Then I have to boot up again and quickly select
Win 2K professional (the existing O/S).

How do I get rid of this annoying installation programme at boot-up?

Thanks in advance

It's controlled by the boot.ini file. Edit the file and remove the line
referring to the unwanted installation. See:

How To Edit the Boot.ini File in Windows 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311578

You can also control which operating system loads (the default OS) and
the timeout period by changing the Startup and Recovery options at the
System Properties applet. To do so go to: Control Panel | System |
Advanced | Startup and Recovery.
