Location of Settings 4 Services

I spent mucho time trimming Services that run auto and
was hoping to save those settings with CSAFE ( similar
to RESTORE ) that can save & restore any file/folder .

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Thanks Doug for such a quick response.

This was really a subset of a larger issue: What to
save before I update hard/software so I can undo
changes especially if I cant boot XP.

So far I've got the Registry + ntldr, ntdetect.com and
boot.ini. By default, they also save
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ but I'm not sure
why. I can save ANY file/folder and also track changes
to files in any folder(for example it can tell u which
files in WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 have changed between any 2
snapshots). Note that I image C: +Dapps) drives at
least every 2 months & keep last 2 images.

I looked at C:\WINDOWS\system32\Restore\filelist.xml
but had difficulty decyphering it. CSafe TS is dragging
their feet - took me 6 wks to get this far with them!
So your help is MUCH appreciated in finally resolving
this issue.

I can't advise you on what to save when you're using a 3rd party
application, since I've never used it, and don't know how accurate it is.
I've never had System Restore fail on me, so I don't depend on 3rd party
apps.

I've used this since W98 when there was no RESTORE &
paid to upgrade it to XP. Apparently they didnt change
interface- by default it saves msdos.sys, io.sys, etc
but NOT boot.ini, etc

I will switch to something else when XP+1 comes out.
Since I got 0 to lose, I'll complain to management &
hope to get different TSR (which I already asked of
current 1) but my experience has been that all I'll get
is more passive-aggressive responses. Xp has worked so
well that I havent had to use this even 1x so far.
