Locating Windows XP patches for backup purposes

I want to find out how to find patches and/or files which
I have already downloaded and installed on my PC from
the "Windows Update" site so that I can back them up to a
CD. This is in case my hard drive crashes. I have the
original operating system disk but of course no updates
since that time. Won't I need to backup the updates so
that they can be added to the original on a new hard
drive in the event of a crash??

Try looking in C:\Program Files\Windows Update
