LocalService not showing in Documents and Settings

I have a service that is looking in C:\Documents and
Settings\LocalService\...

but there is no folder showing in my Documents and Settings folder.

When I was looking File Monitor I could see the process trying to open a
file and when I double clicked it, it opened up a Windows Explorer window
and there it was, but when I opened another Explorer window and went to
Documents and Settings, it wasn't there again.

Why is that?

I need to set some files in the Application Data folder.

Thanks,

Tom

Make sure you are able to see all hidden files and extensions (View tab
in Folder Options). In XP, there are four checkboxes to deal with:

a. Check "Display the contents of system folders".
b. Check "Show hidden files and folders".
c. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".
d. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and click "OK" to the
dialog box.

It was "d" that was causing the problem.

I am also trying change my permissions for "NT AUTHORITY\LocalService" to
access (write or read) a couple of my folders. This is because I wanted to
set up my Windows Service to run under the LocalService account but when I
try that I was getting the message:

The object named "NT AUTHORITY\LocalService" is not from a domain listed in
the Select Location dialog box, and is therefore not valid.

When I tried to add it in as the object name and the "From this location" is
set to be my machine name.

Why can't I get this permission added to my folder?

Thanks,

Tom
