LocalService & My Documents

I am using Windos XP Home Edition. When I open "My Computer" I see two
different folders: 1) shared documents; and 2) Owner's Documents. When I
clicked on "Owner's Docuements" I was always directed to "C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\My Documents". Suddenly this no longer works. I am now
directed to "C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\My Documents" which
doesn't contain any documents. I have looked in some news groups online and
found other people with the same problem. People offer suggests on how to
fix, but no one comments how this could have happened. Did a virus do this?
How did this happen and how do i fix it?

Sounds as though you are running under Owner. I just checked on an OEM
system which has Owner and Local Settings and neither have My Documents.
The individual profiles do, but owner was never even a given.

How are the listings here: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

I am not sure how to answer your question. I went the registry keys that you
asked about and I don't know what info you are asking for. To clarify, until
yesterday, clicking on "Owner's Documents" has ALWAYS brought me to My
Documents. Now I am being brought to "C:\Documents and
Settings\LocalService\My Documents". Yes, I am using the Owner account, but
this has never been a problem.
