Loading software

I have a new Dell computer that came with Windows xp.
When I try to load a software program that I used under
98 it only loads 76 percent and stops at the registry
files.

The program is one that is no longer made. It is

American Greetings CreataCard 3 Plus. I bought the newer
versions but they do not have all the features that this
program has. On the CD it states to go to web site
creatacard.com. When I do it sends me to American
Greeting.

Try loading in compatibility mode. Right-click on the setup or install
executable, choose properties, and choose compatibility. You can try setting
it for 95, 98, etc. If that doesn't work and the company doesn't support it,
there's probably not much else you can do.

You may not be able to use it.
Reboot, disable all unnecessary applications then try to install it.
Try installing in Safe Mode.
Reboot, tapping F8 each second, select "Safe Mode" at the menu.
