Loading Personal Settings

My computer is taking overa minute to load my personal settings which seems excessive to me. I have defragmented the drive with no effect. Even when I create a new user the loading takes the same time. Any ideas?

I've noticed this myself...... not quite sure what takes it so long (in the
middle of making lunch perhaps? <gg>)

ewww.... AFAIAC, Symantec should have been shot years ago for ever
contemplating releasing their version of Norton, let alone actually doing
it.

Start - Run - Run MSConfig.exe

Look on the Startup page, especially for things described in the right
column as being in Startup (your own startup folder of shortcuts). You
may be starting something like an AV that takes time doing a scan at
boot. Or Zone Alarm can produce a delay as another example
