Loading Java

My computer crashed a few weeks ago and it had to be re formatted. Since
then I do not have Java on my system. When trying to download it from the
java web site, I get an error message part way through the install, saying
that the installation could not be opened and to verify that the package
exists and that I can access it.

Can anyone help.

Tried downloading the offline installation file?
