Java errors

Hi
up untill the last few days i have not had a problem with games requiring
java but i recently started getting the message java runtime enviroment
cannott be loaded & then several java virtual machines are running the same
process causing an error.
i have downloaded java again and it has verified that java is installed
correctly any ideas please. iwill also post this on the java help pages
