loading a programme

I had a previous programme which locked up when I tried to enter it.I received an updated version of the same programme and installed it.When I initially open the newer programme for the first time it comes up with a promp

CTimerDlg::CreateDir:c:\rcis\data\already exist

which I click OK to.Then I try to open the new programme it locks up.I have been told to delete all of the old programme which I have tried to do,as it does not have an uninstall function.Obviously I cannot find the above file to delete,any ideas,I have tried the search function and windows explorer??
